Custom Shortcuts
Custom Shortcuts
All Acrobat features defined in FrameMaker, distilled with
TimeSavers+Custom Shortcuts:
- Links/bookmarks
to specific locations in embedded PDF (PDF:
225K); distilled with TimeSavers+custom Embed shortcuts
- Improving figure links with ~View shortcuts (PDF: 115K)
-- links point to the figure itself, and not to the title. Also demonstrated
(PDF: 170K): Form Assistant (non-printable
Back button), ExtractFigureBookmarks;
PDF
(550K) using these techniques (applying
to figure and tables), produced by Bergan et al. Inc.
- Embedding
("attaching") files in a PDF file (PDF:
152K) using ~CommentEmbed and ~DocEmbed custom shortcuts
(document attachments are supported in Acrobat/Reader 6 or higher)
- "Highlight"
annotations (PDF: 94K), coloring specific
terms. Double-clicking the highlighted word opens a window with
the additional text; placing the cursor on the highlighted word
displays the additional information as a tooltip. Can control
color, annotation style (highlight, underline, squiggly, strikeout),
printing; zip file (99K) includes PDF and source .fm file
- Using articles to enlarge/navigate
graphics (1-page PDF in a 38K zip) (~ArtLink
and ~ArtBmk shortcuts)
Images split into zoomable areas with custom ~LinkMatrix and

click Back to display image after zooming in) | Article Matrix (PDF:

in)
Bookmarks/links
to specific areas in graphics (PDF: 63K);

14K), referencing an external xmp file (sample,
1K); using the ~DocXMP_PS custom shortcut (PDF: 21K),
items defined in a PS text frame in the FrameMaker file
- PDF links/bookmarks
to topics in a CHM file with the ~CHMlink/~CHMbmk shortcuts
(PDF: 42K); place the CHM
file in the demos folder;
PDF links/bookmarks
to topics in a WinHelp file with the ~helplink/~helpbmk shortcuts
(PDF: 65K); zip
file (67K) includes PDF, source .fm file
and linked .hlp file
- Using the
TimeSavers ~explorer shortcut to create links launching Windows
Explorer (PDF: 74K); zip

Note: "Custom Shortcuts" are not included
in TimeSavers' set of pre-defined shortcuts. Custom shortcuts
cost $45 ($30 when purchased in conjunction with a new TimeSavers
